In this video I show how I handle the Oficina do Tux migration to another Server with ISPConfig 3.1.1, which now supports HHVM.
On 25 October 2016 the ISPConfig3 project released version 3.1.1, which now includes support for the virtual machine from Facebook HHVM that executes PHP scripts.
With this change, any web project written in PHP runs much faster and uses fewer Server resources.
So today the www.oficinadotux.com.br website runs very fast thanks to HHVM, which is being developed by Facebook.

As I mentioned in the video I use this script for Mysql or MariaDB backups, written in Python. It runs every night and backs up all databases; I use Cron to run it every day in the early morning, and it also has an option to email a log of what happened.
This script is one I wrote myself, based on an old Perl script I had. For those who don't know, I develop in Perl, Python, PHP, Bash and Golang.
About HHVM
HHVM is an open-source virtual machine designed for executing programs written in Hack and PHP. HHVM uses a just-in-time (JIT) compilation approach to achieve superior performance while maintaining the development flexibility that PHP provides.
HHVM supports Hack, PHP 5 and the major features of PHP 7. We are aware of minor incompatibilities, so please open issues when you find them. HHVM also supports many extensions as well.
If you want to test HHVM on your Ubuntu 16.04 or 14.04 Desktop, see this tutorial here on the blog.
